Roxy Rezvany
FounderRoxy Rezvany is a BAFTA Elevate honouree, and a BIFA and London Critics’ Circle-nominated director. She has over a decade of experience producing documentaries for broadcasters including HBO, VICE, BBC, and National Geographic, with Directors such as Spike Jonze and Orlando von Einsiedel. Her directorial debut, LITTLE PYONGYANG (2018) premiered in competition at CPH:Dox Festival and screened at festivals including Sheffield Doc/Fest, and SFF Doc Stories. It was the winner of several awards, including Best Director at Underwire Festival and Best Cinematography at the SIMA awards. Her follow-up WIFI RIDER (2020) premiered on Topic, Executive Produced by Roger Ross Williams, and was a prize winner at the Torino Short Film Market. Roxy is recognised as an artist filmmaker, with commissions from The Barbican, The Booker Prize, Amnesty International and BBC Film. WOMEN, LIFE, FREEDOM (2022), a documentary-art short commissioned by Vogue Magazine, received over 10 million views online.
Aya Kaido
ProducerAya is an experienced producer with an award-winning background in production across documentary, branded content, film and fine art, with a special interest in research, archive and language, having risen up the ranks since 2013.
The latest film she produced, THE GREAT NORTH (2024), is her first feature, a hybrid documentary-art film directed by Jenn Nkiru about Manchester, Black Northern Music & Culture, Northern Architecture and how space is lived in, transformed and remixed. The film was commissioned by Manchester International Festival for the inauguration of their new site, Factory International designed by architect Rem Koolhaas’ studio OMA, where it also had its World Premiere in October 2024. The film had its European Premiere at IFFR 2025, its London premiere at SXSW London in June 2025 and its North American premiere at Blackstar Film Festival in August 2025, where it was also the festival’s closing film.
In 2021 she won a Grammy for Best Music Video for BROWN SKIN GIRL (2020) as part of Beyoncé’s film and visual album, BLACK IS KING. Other notable films she has worked on with Jenn Nkiru include: KILLING IN THY NAME (2021) by Rage Against the Machine, BLACK TO TECHNO (2019) commissioned by Frieze x GUCCI and OUT / SIDE OF TIME (2021) commissioned by the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
In 2020, she produced Like A Fish Out Of Water (2020), an experimental art film exploring the ‘fish out of water’ phenomenon experienced by a woman of interracial immigrant heritage in Britain, directed by Roxy Rezvany, commissioned by the Barbican.
In 2019, she produced a 2-screening installation of Jenn Nkiru’s seminal film REBIRTH IS NECESSARY (2019) at 180 Strand in London at the group show Transformer - A Rebirth Of Wonder, curated by Jefferson Hack alongside other notable artists such as Doug Aitken, Sophia Al-Maria & Sin Wai Kin, Korakrit Arunanondchai, Donna Huanca, Juliana Huxtable, Evan Ifekoya, Dozie Kanu, Quentin Lacombe, Lawrence Lek, Chen Wei and Harley Weir & George Rouy. In 2022, the multi-screen work was exhibited at the IMA (International Museum of Art) in Brisbane, Australia.
In 2018 she produced Little Pyongyang (2018), a cinematic documentary directed by Roxy Rezvany, which had its World Premiere at CPH:DOX 2018 where it was nominated for the NEXT:WAVE Award and its UK Premiere at Sheffield Doc/Fest in June 2018. It has since gone on to win multiple awards such as Best Director at Underwire Festival, Best Cinematography at SIMA and Best Documentary at The Smalls Festival.
Previously she worked as an in-house producer at the Tate for many years working on global campaigns, films and trailers to promote exhibitions, as well as, artist profile mini-docs showcasing artists from the collection. As a freelance producer she has worked on global advertising campaigns, producing a variety of docs and branded films for institutions and brands such as Parkwood, Frieze, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, Haus Der Kunst, The Barbican, The Guardian, Christie's, Tiffany’s, Crestbridge and Avon among others. Alongside her producing she has 5+ years experience as an executive assistant to artist and film director, Jenn Nkiru on fine art, commercial and TV projects which have been exhibited and broadcast globally for clients including Yves Saint Laurent, Genesis, Apple, Facebook, GUCCI, Frieze, Adidas, Ivy Park, Nike and HBO among others.
