Roxy Rezvany

Director & Producer

Roxy Rezvany is a BIFA and London Critics’ Circle-nominated film director, and BAFTA Elevate honouree. She has over a decade of experience producing documentaries for broadcasters including HBO, VICE, BBC, and National Geographic - working with Directors/Executive Producers such as Spike Jonze and Orlando von Einsiedel.

Her directorial debut, LITTLE PYONGYANG (2018) premiered in competition at CPH:Dox Festival and screened at festivals including Sheffield Doc/Fest, and SFF Doc Stories. It was the winner of several awards, including Best Director at Underwire Festival and Best Cinematography at the SIMA awards.

Her follow-up WIFI RIDER (2020) premiered on Topic, Executive Produced by Roger Ross Williams, and was a prize winner at the Torino Short Film Market. Roxy is recognised as an artist filmmaker, with commissions from The Barbican, The Booker Prize, Amnesty International and BBC Film.

WOMEN, LIFE, FREEDOM (2022), a documentary-art short commissioned by Vogue Magazine, received over 10 million views online, featuring artists such as Shirin Neshat and Golshifteh Farahani.

For her work as a writer-director, she was nominated for the McLaren Award at Edinburgh Film Festival for Photo Booth (2020) and received multiple nominations for Honesty (2021), which she directed and co-wrote.

She is currently working on a feature screenplay for BBC Films and a documentary feature for Film4 and the BFI.

Producer

Aya Kaido

Aya is a Grammy-winning film producer with a background in documentary, branded content, film and fine art, with a special interest in research, archive and language.

She recently produced, THE GREAT NORTH (2024), a hybrid documentary-art feature film commissioned by Manchester International Festival for the inauguration of their new site, Factory International designed by architect Rem Koolhaas’ studio OMA. The film had its European Premiere at IFFR 2025, its London premiere at SXSW London in June 2025 and its North American premiere at Blackstar Film Festival in August 2025, where it was the festival’s closing film.

In 2021 she won a Grammy for Best Music Video for BROWN SKIN GIRL (2020) as part of Beyoncé’s film and visual album, BLACK IS KING. Other notable films she has worked on with Jenn Nkiru include: KILLING IN THY NAME (2021) by Rage Against the Machine, BLACK TO TECHNO (2019) commissioned by Frieze x GUCCI and OUT / SIDE OF TIME (2021) commissioned by the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

In 2019, she produced a 2-screening installation of Jenn Nkiru’s seminal film REBIRTH IS NECESSARY (2019) at 180 Strand in London at the group show Transformer - A Rebirth Of Wonder, curated by Jefferson Hack. In 2018 she produced Little Pyongyang (2018), a cinematic documentary directed by Roxy Rezvany, which had its World Premiere at CPH:DOX 2018 where it was nominated for the NEXT:WAVE Award and its UK Premiere at Sheffield Doc/Fest in June 2018.

Previously she worked as an in-house producer at the Tate for many years working on global campaigns, films and trailers to promote exhibitions, as well as, artist profile mini-docs showcasing artists from the collection. As a freelance producer she has worked on global advertising campaigns for Parkwood, Frieze, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, Haus Der Kunst, The Barbican, The Guardian, Christie's, Tiffany’s, Crestbridge and Avon among others.
